Historic Downtown Chandler

Gavin and I went on a guided tour of downtown Chandler last night. Learned lots of fun things about the east valley and specifically Dr. Chandler, Mr. Dobson, the Serrano's and the Basha's. All fun stuff, and cool to learn about where we live. Forgot my camera so stealing some photos off the internet. Chandler has a giant tumbleweed Christmas tree every year (since 1957), it was so cool and actually very beautiful. Next year we'll be sure to attend the tree lighting ceremony.

Our friend Samara also came on the tour and afterwards we went to dinner at the Urban Tea Loft. Which is the coolest tea store I've ever been in and they have delicious food too. I had such a great time with Sam (not just saying that because she'll read this either). It was nice to be home and do normal things in the evening...like normal people that don't travel do. Another New Year's resolution - take advantage of the time we're home and get out in our community more. AZ is a cool place and we have lots to learn about it. We have wonderful friends that live here and we need to try to do more things with them.
