The stats

As a family we were recently discussing the topic of nicknames.  When Liam was born we called him "peanut" because he was significantly smaller at birth weight than Gavin, and because with a 2 1/2 year old as our only gauge of size, Liam did look like a peanut.  He thinks it's cute and he doesn't mind it, when he's 15 it may not be the same story, but for now I'll take it and continue to call him peanut.

His recent doctors visit solidified the nickname as well.  The pediatrician was a bit worried, but we aren't.  If he's anything like Jason he'll grow several inches between high school and college and probably be taller than all of us.  OR...he'll just live up to his nickname and the other ones that have followed:  surfer dude, Gavin's brother with the good hair, perfect hair, etc.

Did you know, the optimal height for a surfer is 5'9"...you do now!  If we have to travel to Hawaii often to visit Liam in his surfing competitions, we can live with that!

5 year stats

Height
Liam 41.5" - 19% (he gets that from Barb)
Gavin 43.6" - 64%

Weight
Liam 38 lbs - 33%
Gavin 45 lbs - 80%

Liam's 5th Birthday

Having a birthday two days after Christmas is so tough. Our family tradition is to put all the Christmas decorations away on the 26th so Liam can celebrate in style on the 27th.  This year we met our goal and he couldn't have been happier.

A fun daytime party with grandparents, and a nighttime sleepover with friends!  When you're five that is the best day of your life!

First day of Pre-K

How did our little peanut get to Pre-Kindergarten?  Now he's the big brother.  He loves going to school, loves that some old friends are in his class again and that he gets to make some new ones.  And his teacher from last year is the aid in his class again this year.  More pictures to come from his Friday adventures.  But this Pre-K class is 2 full days a week, and he'll be pumped up and ready to go for Kindergarten next year.

Fearless Liam

Our second trip to the ER with our little peanut.  His head is a magnet for accidents.  That's okay, scars are cool.  And now he has one on each side to even it out.

He has managed to avoid stitches each time though.  And nothing a little cuddle time with dad, raspberry slurpie, and lego's can't fix (plus the magic glue from Children's Mercy Hospital).  He's back to normal now and ready for his next adventure...which will more than likely happen with a bicycle.

Happy 4 years old Liam

Liam's favorite food is currently pizza.  So we had a few friends over for a pizza party not the actual day of his birthday.  The usual suspect, and a friend William from school.

You may notice a small bandage over Liam's left eye.  Yes our little Mr. Adventure slipped in the shower the day before and had to go to the children's ER.  Luckily no stitches were needed, but he did get some fancy glue to close it shut.

Batman forever!

The stats

Liam turned 4 in December.

He may not be the biggest kid in size in the family, but his personality is often the biggest.  And we love him to pieces for it.

First day of 2015 school

A lot of firsts in the Hendricks house...

Liam...first day of being the BIG BROTHER at preschool.  Liam attends 2 full days a week.  On Tuesdays he gets one-on-one time with Grandma.

Lola...first day of Kids Day out.  She's attending one full day a week.  Didn't bat an eye, walked right in and started making friends and pleasing the teachers.

Gavin...first day of Kindergarten at Cedar Creek Elementary.  I'm not sure there are any kids in America more excited than this guy to start school.  He lucked out and has some good buddies in his class.  We can't wait to see what great things this guy does in his first year.

Our little munchkins with a lot of new adventures on the horizon for the 2015-2016 school year.
