Family Photos

Thanks to our wonderful friend & photographer Sam we were able to get some great family photos taken today. We'll use one of them for our Christmas cards. The most exciting thing about the pictures was how we were able to edit them...on our NEW MAC! Yep, we did it - broke down and crossed over to the Mac side. Out with the crappy PC...now if we could only get our company to switch to Mac. This thing is awesome and we can't wait to learn all about all the wonderful things it can do.

Thanksgiving 2009

No pictures - well we have 1 picture of Gavin, but I'll have to dig it out. More like - no time to blog! We started our day with a 10K Turkey Trot...Grandma Patti stayed home with Gavin because he was still sleeping. Jason & Barb ran and had a good time. We got home and started cooking for the day. Barb felt crappy and just figured it was from the run. As the day went on she felt worse and worse...ended up with a fever & everything. Jason had to take care of Gavin because Barb pretty much quarantined herself from the baby...didn't want him getting sick. Fun Thanksgiving huh?

Gaving tried rice ceral for the first time, that is the picture we have - we'll add it to the blog later. The little guy is eating so much we'll soon be on baby food. We are attempting to make our own baby food and we've tried carrots, squash, spinach, and apples so far. They are in the freezer ready for him when he's ready.

U of A College Game Day

What a fun, fun day! The Hendricks family had tickets to the Arizona/Oregon football game. Little did we know that ESPN's College Game Day would be in town. So after arriving back to Phoenix from a busy, out-of-town work week. We all got up at 4:30 am to drive down to Tucson and try to get on TV.

A sea of red & blue. Gavin took in the crowd for a while, then...
Got a little sleepy....
And yes, in a crow of screaming, cheering fans - he slept. For almost the entire Game Day.
The Hendricks in their U of A garb, ready to cheer on the team!
We were upgraded to a suite at the JW Marriott Starr Pass. Gavin stayed with Grandma Patti while Barb & Jason went to the game.
The bed just swallowed him up it was so big.
Jason and Gavin watching football a the Sports Bar.
Gavin expressing himself with sign language...this is his opinion of the Oregon Ducks. (no we didn't pose him for this photo...silly kid just did it).

Cronkite News 3 Day Story

Reporter Liz Rohe did a story in October about the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Race. She found out about the 3 Day (60 mile) Breast Cancer walk and contact Barb to do a follow up story. Great job Liz, you're in the right profession!

Breast Cancer 3 Day - Day #3

Day #3, sore feet, tight calves, a few blisters...but the sun is out! We only have 20 miles left and for some reason all the pain seems to go away on the third day. We had a great time this year and look forward to doing it again in years to come.

Old Town Scottsdale.

Couldn't resist a photo opp...it was so cold in the morning!

Barb & the Disco Dude.

Our little champ waiting for us at the end. A woman saw him and insisted that he hold the "Mother" flag - he's so dang cute! We missed him for the 3 days, but knew he was in good hands with Grandma Patti.

Success! We finished all 60 miles, it wasn't easy - but worth every step!! Thank you to all who supported us - we love and appreciate you all.
(Time to go ice our entire bodies now!)

Breast Cancer 3 Day - Day #2

Day #2 - RAIN?!?! In Arizona? We could have gone to the Seattle 3 Day for this. All and all it was another successful day. Just glad we had Gavin as an excuse to go home to our nice, warm, dry bed this year - a rainy tent really isn't much fun.

Cold & wet to start our morning at 6:30.

#1 Fan out to support us again. Then came the rain so he had to go home.

Yes it rained hard enough we needed panchos.

Took this one for dad, old fire truck - pretty cool.

Day #2, the sun is out - you'd never know it was pouring down rain. Time to go ice our feet!!

Breast Cancer 3 Day - Day #1

We started out in Gilbert, AZ for a little 20 mile walk. It was overcast, a little chilly, but great walking weather. Once again Opening Ceremonies were inspiring, motivating, emotional, and the great way to start this amazing event.

Our favorite cheering section came to see us at Cheer Station #1. Gavin & Grandma Patti came to cheer us on (and so mom could take care of the pumping issue)

Jason always charming the ladies. This time they were dressed as the 3 little pigs, and as always they love Jason.

Day #1 complete, time to go home to a bath we can soak in and a good night sleep.

Tummy Time

Gavin really worked his neck muscles today. Mom & Dad were laughing so hard we could barely stand it. Jason would try to take pictures and Gavin would roll over before he could get the camera out. So Jason put it on sport mode and took several shots of the little bugger.

KC Friends

Gavin spent the week in Kansas City (again) with mom while she worked. He got to see lots of new people and spent his days with Mary & Diane. This is his friend Ava.
