Tree Trimming

I don't know how, but this little guy knew what to do with these strands of beaded garland. Well not exactly what to do, he wasn't hanging it on the tree - but he sure played cute with them so I could take some fun photos. Jason wasn't too up on the fact his son was stringing beads around his next, but I thought it was cute. We had fun hanging all of our ornaments! It's always fun to walk down memory lane with the ornaments in the box. Luckily we put our tree up fairly early this year so we've been able to enjoy it. And Gavin hasn't messed with it at all!

I can do it myself!!

Gavin is getting more and more independent each day. This meal he decided he wanted to feed himself. The pictures say it all.

A Day at the Farm

Today we went to Mother Nature's Farm in Gilbert, AZ. It was our first time there, and next year I think we'll be sure to go in October so we can pick our pumpkins. Today was SNOW DAY! They build a big mound of hay and cover it with snow for the kids to play in. It was almost 80 degrees today so there was a LOT of mud; we decided to skip playing in the snow and save that until February in Colorado!! We saw lots of other things and had a some fun family time!

Snow Day

Happy Thanksgiving in Tumwater, WA!!

We thought we would surprise Great Grandma Jane, and boy did we. We were also surprised when we showed up on November 24th to SNOW! (it never snows, and it really never snows in November in Tumwater). Gavin didn't exactly play in it, but he did go out on the deck and check it out. Yes he is barefoot - his choice. It was beautiful, and gone by the time we left on Sunday.

It was a fun weekend and we had a great time with family.

He's getting so big! He'll still always be our baby. Wendy Newman Studios took his studio pictures his first year, she did a great job!

Family Photos

Yesterday we attempted to take family photos for our Christmas cards. The weather and cloud cover was ideal for picture taking, we love our camera, bought a tripod to make it all happen, headed out to an ideal location. After 3 tries we settled on downtown Gilbert. We quickly realized that getting a 16 month old to cooperate for pictures is not easy, and depending on the day/time - can be impossible. Here are a few we took, when we got him smiling - he was great. Getting all 3 of us together smiling, not so great. Oh well. We'll come up with something for the family Christmas Card.

Arizona Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk

We did it! Thanks to all of our supporters, friends, family - we couldn't have done it without you. We were sore & tired, but that only lasted a day or two. Hopefully our hard work will leave lasting impression much longer than that. And yes, we will be doing the walk again in 2011, hopefully with some added team members.

Day #2, Hurt is not as good :)

We've successfully completed Day #2 of the Susan G. Komen 60 Mile 3 Day walk. Our legs are a little more sore, our feet have a few more blisters, and we have a little bit more of a tan. It is all part of the experience and we wouldn't trade it for anything. The supporters that showed up today were amazing. We received so many goodies and giveaways in Old Town Scottsdale our hands were full when we got through there. Thanks to the Girl Scouts that made ribbons, bows, bracelets, and hand written cards - we could feel the love! The highlight of our day was our special visitors Samara, Gavin, and Mom!! Today was over 22 miles and seeing all of you made it easier to get through the day.

It Hurts So Good!!

Day #1 of the 60 mile 3 day walk has come to a close. I'm sitting in a massage chair surfing the internet. They have everything here at the 3 Day Camp. We are tired, a little sore, but ready for good food at dinner. We always meet some wonderful people and are looking forward to making some new friends tonight.
