Big girl goes to school

We still call her baby Lola, but she's far from that.  She's MORE than ready for preschool, but her age doesn't allow her in yet.  She'll definitely be the top of her class in years to come.  In the meantime she'll continue learning through play and enjoying friends and teachers.  Lola goes to a Kids Day Out program once a week all day long at Kids Place at Grace (where we also attend church, Grace United Methodist Church).  The staff is absolutely amazing.  She loves going on Tuesdays with Liam, and is a bit disappointed when she doesn't get to go on the other days.  She will soon get used to special days with Grandpa Patti and push school to the curb.

First day of Pre-K

How did our little peanut get to Pre-Kindergarten?  Now he's the big brother.  He loves going to school, loves that some old friends are in his class again and that he gets to make some new ones.  And his teacher from last year is the aid in his class again this year.  More pictures to come from his Friday adventures.  But this Pre-K class is 2 full days a week, and he'll be pumped up and ready to go for Kindergarten next year.

First Day of First Grade

Yes there are a lot of kids out there that love school, but Gavin might take the cake!  He LOVES school.  Of course if you ask him he will say that PE, recess, and lunch are his favorite subjects.  He might take after mom, school = social awesomeness!

His teacher this year is Mrs. Downing.  He has been very disappointed that he didn't get to have Mrs. Kufeldt (Kindergarten teacher) again.  A few days in now and I think he's adjusting just fine.  Of course there isn't a sole we haven't crossed paths with that Gavin doesn't like.

Happy First Grade kiddo!  Hope it's a great one, we know it will be.

First day of 2015 school

A lot of firsts in the Hendricks house...

Liam...first day of being the BIG BROTHER at preschool.  Liam attends 2 full days a week.  On Tuesdays he gets one-on-one time with Grandma.

Lola...first day of Kids Day out.  She's attending one full day a week.  Didn't bat an eye, walked right in and started making friends and pleasing the teachers.

Gavin...first day of Kindergarten at Cedar Creek Elementary.  I'm not sure there are any kids in America more excited than this guy to start school.  He lucked out and has some good buddies in his class.  We can't wait to see what great things this guy does in his first year.

Our little munchkins with a lot of new adventures on the horizon for the 2015-2016 school year.

Lola's first bath

She loved the warm water coming out of the faucet, didn't love being washed.  She just wanted to be warm and not mess with all the other stuff.  We've since also taken a shower and she loved that.  Good thing we have a big shower...mommy, 2 toddlers, and a newborn can be a little crowded in the shower.

Liam's 1st day of Preschool

Liam is attending Preschool for the first time this year.  He is going full day, but only one day a week (Wednesdays).  His classroom is the same place he goes to for nursery on Sunday at church so it is a familiar place.  He's gone 3 times now and seems to love it every time.  Vocabulary is still minimal so he isn't telling us he loves it, but he doesn't cry when we leave him and his daily report typically says happy, energetic and playful.  He looks so big in some of these pictures.
Didn't love the backpack at first

Big brother put his hat on Liam, and Liam refused to take it off.  Wore it all day!

That's our typical happy, smiling boy!!

Gavin's 1st Day of 2013 Preschool

Gavin is attending preschool 3 days a week this year.  M, W, F for half days.  His first day was Monday August 26th and he couldn't have been more excited.  He went to 3 weeks of summer camp and his teachers were the same teachers he will have this year.
He chose the first day of school outfit.

Big Boy Car Seat

Gavin isn't the only one getting bigger - Liam has left the baby car seat behind.  Seems like no big deal, but now he sits facing forward like big brother and he can see out the window, talk to everyone else in the car.  It is a big deal!

1st Day of Preschool

Everyone warned us, but until you experience it first hand, you don't appreciate the fact that they grow up so fast! Gavin's first day of preschool was Monday Feb. 4th.  Armed with his backpack, lunch, and Woody he stormed the school with his typical Gavin charm.  No tears (from mom & dad or Gavin).  Just a whole lot of excitement.  He is now in his second week and making himself right at home.  We're so happy and excited for him.
