All Star Weekend

Thanks to our new favorite neighbors, we were able to participate in the All Star MLB Weekend that was held here in Kansas city.  We started out at the FanFest in downtown on Saturday.
My boys strolling through the streets, it was incredible hot!  We were so glad FanFest was inside.

Liam couldn't swing or throw, but he got on the ground and (as usual) enjoyed every minute of the day!
Do we have a lefty in our family??
I want this chair for the boys rooms :)

On Sunday we went to the Futures and Celebrity games.  The boys were really good (Liam loved the game).  Gavin has been to the ball park a few times so now he knows where the toys are and that's where he wants to go as soon as we enter the stadium.

4th of July

We love our traditions, and now that we're in Kansas City we're starting to make new ones.  We attended the Lenexa 4th of July parade this year.  It was the perfect size parade for little ones.  We were able to secure a spot in the shade, armed with American flags, snacks, water, and smiles!!  The parade lasted about an hour, which was perfect.  We went with our new neighbors who we've really enjoyed spending time with and getting to know.

No fireworks for us this year, 9:30 pm is just too late (for all of us).  We enjoyed the sun by playing in the water most of the afternoon.  Liam and Gavin both enjoyed the sprinkler and pool!!

First Crawl

At the ripe old age of 6 months and 1 week, Liam took his first steps...well crawling steps.  CRAZY!  He was all about getting a hold of Gavin's Mickey's.  As exciting as it is, it's also a little sad - they grow up way too fast.  We hardly remember when Gavin first crawled.

Sleepover

Gavin had his first official sleepover.  In attendance...2 girls!  WHAT?  Just wait, when he's 16 and asking for a girl sleepover I'll tell him he used all those up when he was a toddler.

They had lots of fun, pizza, treats, movies, swimming...and not enough sleep.
Just what you would expect at a sleepover.
 Homemade pizzas
Not quite sure what was going on here, but Gavin was tackling Layne.  He'll one day realize tackling girls is not the best method to win them over.
Chilling out after play, play, play!!
Everyone should be in bed asleep at this point, but we did movies instead.

A fun night for everyone; there will more than likely be a lot more of these in our future!!

Arizona Wins!!

The College World Series that is.  University of Arizona, after 26 years they did it.  We were all so excited to watch the games.  We even drove to Omaha for one of the games early in the tournament.  We proudly wore our Arizona gear, way to go Cats!!!

Swim Time

We have lots of catching up to do (3 months worth), but for now we'll start fresh and move forward with our current lives.  We'll go back and try to catch up over the last few weeks.  We took Liam swimming for the first time ever, and Gavin for the first time in Kansas.  They both had a great time.  Gavin's swim lessons helped, hopefully we can spend a lot of time at the pool this summer and make a little swimmer out of him.

6 month update

The other night we watched a 45 second video of a baby laughing in the back seat of our car.  Several people watching said "oh look, it's Liam"...nope it was Gavin.  There are lots of things Liam does that reminds us of Gavin, but as you can see from the pictures below...they are both BOYS, definitely brothers, but still each have their own unique look.

and just in case you are wondering, Gavin is on top, Liam is on bottom.  Liam has his official 6 month check up in a week; we'll put up the stats for the two after his visit.

Father's Day

We had an awesome Father's Day weekend!!  We spent it in our new house playing, cooking, and having fun together as a family  Gavin was SO excited to give daddy his card because it played music...Superman of course.  It was in the shape of a trophy though, so Gavin kept calling it the Piston Cup (from the movie Cars). The boys got their daddy a new big tool box for the garage.  It even has wheels, oooooh!

Happy Father's Day dad!  We love you!!!  XOXOXO

Green Gringos

We may not be Irish, but we always celebrate like we are.  How can you not with a middle name like "Patrick".  It is one of Barb's favorite holidays so the boys will always be roped into making the most of the green holiday.

The day wouldn't be complete without a GREEN BOOGER.
Gross, what a typical little boy.
(Sorry Gavin, I couldn't resist)
