Fun in the Sun

Downtown Gilbert is such a great place. It's quaint, unique, small, and just so darn cute. Great place to walk around. We don't get down there much, but will be going more often now. They have a Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings from 7am-11am. We've only caught the tail end of it, but it looks great. We plan on going several times this summer. Right next to the Farmers Market is the water tower and the water fun! Of course we weren't thinking about this so we didn't come prepared with water attire. It didn't stop Gavin. We took off his clothes and let him run wild. He loved it! What a great way to have fun outside even in the AZ heat.

Decided the decorative water fixture was a swimming pool
So smiley and cute!

Just wish we could all be kids again, life is so great every single day!

  1. How COOL. This is awesome. So spontaneous and happy! I love seeing kids play in these little water feature things. They always look like they're having such an amazing time running in the water -- just like G is here. That last picture is worth a thousand words! Just fyi, there is another one of these water deals at Lindsay and Queen Creek (close to you), an awesome one at Tempe Town Lake that's way worth the drive and a simple but big one right by True Foods inside Scottsdale Quarter. :)

It's great you created some time to play in your city. Gilbert is a cute, charming town. I haven't been down there a lot, but Kim and I went to the farmers market just before Christmas. I liked it a lot. It was 95% crafts/homemade items and not really any produce, but if you go in knowing that, it's enjoyable.

I even found these great Christmas gifts there for $5 each! They were made by kids (from a program designed to keep kids off the street) from silverware in the shape of dragon flies, etc. Then, each one was welded to a steak so it could be poked into the ground for a lawn decoration. I gave D a dragonfly (which is in our front yard) and his stepdad a hummingbird. They loved them.

Anyway, thanks for sharing! Fun post.
